Cllr Tom Wootton

Wyboston Ward

Cllr Tom Wootton is the Councillor for Wyboston Ward.  He represents the villages of; Bolnhurst; Keysoe; Colmworth; Duloe; Little Barford; Little Staughton; Roxton; Staploe; Wilden; Wyboston; Chawston, and; Colesden.  He was first elected in 2002 and was the cabinet member for Highways, Transport and Waste on the former Bedfordshire County Council.

He currently sits on the Council's General Purposes Committee and was the Council's Speaker for the year 2016/17.

Tom lives in Ravensden where he manages the family’s farm, following a family farming tradition in Bedfordshire that stretches back hundreds of years.  

He is married with 4 children.

Cllr Tom Wootton Welcomes Black Cat Progress

Wyboston Cllr Tom Wootton has welcomed news that improvement works at the Black Cat roundabout are reaching their final stages, with completion hopefully at the end of March.

Cllr Tom Wootton attended the Wyboston Ward Forum yesterday evening to discuss a range of issues with residents including the problem of speeding in the villages.

Bedford Borough Broadband Update

Cllr Tom Wootton attended a meeting in Colmworth on Friday which focussed on the extension of superfast broadband in Bedford Borough.

Roxton School Bus Campaign Ends in Success

Parents of pupils from Roxton who attend Alban Academy in Great Barford have won a temporary victory in their hard fought campaign to reinstate their school bus.

Cllr Jon Gambold and his family moved to Biddenham in 1996 from north London.  His stepson had recently entered Bedford Modern School and it made the whole business of being on the touchline for football, rugby and cricket fixtures that much the easier.

Cllr Stephen Moon has been a representative of Great Barford Ward since 2011 and was Leader of the Conservative Group from 2012 - 2019.

Cllr Martin Towler has been the member for Riseley Ward since the election in May 2015.  He represents a number of parishes in the Ward, namely: Bletsoe; Dean & Shelton; Melchbourne & Yelden; Pertenhall & Swineshead; Riseley, and; Thurleigh.

Cllr Jane Walker has represented Clapham since 2009.  Before that she served on Bedfordshire County Council from 2005. She has also been a Parish Councillor since 1994.

Cllr John Wheeler

Wootton Ward

Cllr John Wheeler was first elected as the Councillor for Wootton Ward at the May 2015 Borough Council election.  He is heavily involved with community life in the village as a parish councillor of over 15 years experience, a Governor of both Wootton Lower School and Wootton Upper School, a member of 3 village charities and a regular visitor to the village's churches.
