Kempston Rural Cllr Mark Smith will continue to try to find a solution to a speeding problem on Wootton Road, stretching from the junction with Ridge Road to Keeley Lane in Wootton, despite being told that no funding is available for average speed cameras.
At last week’s meeting of Bedford Borough Council Cllr Smith presented a petition on the behalf of residents who have been increasingly concerned about motorists reaching excessive speeds on a road with tight corners.
Following the meeting Cllr Smith told the Bedfordshire on Sunday:
‘It was disappointing to hear the response but this is not the end of it. I will be taking it back to the Town Council and we will continue to look for solutions.
‘More than anything we hope to get a survey taken so we can get facts and figures to back up our concerns. It is clear that people to drive too fast down this road, so hopefully we can work to find a solution.’
