Residents in Turvey have been deprived of the Council’s mobile library which has failed to show up on recent occasions, according to Kempston Rural Cllr Mark Smith.
The service is supposed to visit Turvey at least every fortnight but residents have been disappointed recently at not being given an explanation for the Mobile Library’s no-shows.
Cllr Smith raised the matter with the Mayor at last week’s Full Council meeting. He said:
‘Many Turvey residents look forward to the Mobile Library’s visits to the village so it has been very disappointing that they have not been told when the service has not been running. To make it worse, some have been charged for overdue library books which they have not been able to return!
‘I am pleased that the Council will now undertake monthly reports on the Mobile Library service which will hopefully prevent no-shows in the future.’
