Cllr Alison Foster has been the representative for Harrold Ward since the election in 2011, serving the villages of; Wymington; Little Wymington; Podington; Hinwick; Farndish, Odell; Harrold; Carlton, and; Chellington.
Alison currently sits on the Licensing and Planning Committees as well as the Police and Crime Panel which scrutinises the actions of the Bedfordshire Police and Crime Commissioner. In this role Alison is keen to ensure that the rural residents receive their fair share of police time and resources. She is also a Trustee of Emmaus Village, Carlton.
Alison has fought against unsuitable development in the countryside and is keen to preserve the rural way of life in Harrold Ward. She has fought against the closure of rural pubs and the development of inappropriate Gypsy & Traveller sites in the rural areas. In this regard, she put pressure on the Council to deliver the Council owned Willow Drift site next to the A603.
In addition to her work as a Councillor, Alison is a solicitor specialising in Private Client work, mainly Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Probate and Trusts. She lives in Bletsoe.
