Government is providing up to £60 million to help bus operators to cap single adult fares at £2 per journey.

Residents across Bedford Borough are set to benefit from a £60 million cash injection into bus services across the UK.

To quote Sir David Attenborough, “The truth is: the natural world is changing. And we are totally dependent on that world. It provides our food, water and air. It is the most precious thing we have and we need to defend it.”

Bedford Council is benefiting from £22.6m from the Governments £3.6 billion Town Fund which is aimed at supporting areas like Bedford Borough to “level up”.

Bedford Borough will be receiving just over £2.3 million from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities to deliver projects proposed in the UK’s Shared Prosperity Investment Plan.
